Darrin founded the Ocala Distance Project with the goal of improving distance running in Ocala, Florida. His vision has transformed the local running landscape, with over half of all All-Area runners now coming from his program.
A 2006 graduate of Vanguard High School, Darrin earned a running scholarship to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. After a career-ending injury, he completed his Bachelor's degree in Communication at the University of North Florida, never losing his passion for the sport.
Since returning to Ocala in 2012, Darrin has established himself as one of the region's premier distance running coaches. His athletes have achieved remarkable success, producing multiple state champions and Division I college recruits.
Beyond coaching, Darrin is the owner of Radical Runs, a business dedicated to organizing races throughout Ocala. He serves as head meet announcer for FHSAA state championships and ASUN Conference Championships, and has been featured in Ocala Magazine's "40 under 40" for his community contributions.

We coach athletes from elementary through adults. Youth coaching is conducted via group sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 PM at Jervey Gantt Park. Adult coaching is available online with personalized training plans and virtual support.
Our regular practice sessions are held at Jervey Gantt Park on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 PM. We also utilize various trails and tracks throughout the Ocala area for different training sessions.
No prior experience is necessary! We welcome runners of all levels, from complete beginners to experienced athletes looking to improve their performance. Our coaches will assess your current fitness level and create a personalized training plan.
We specialize in distance running events including 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m, cross country (5K), 10K, half marathon, and marathon. Our training methodology applies to all distance running disciplines.
