At Ocala Distance Project, we believe in a comprehensive approach to distance running. Our training programs are designed to develop not just physical capabilities, but also mental strength and racing strategy.
Each program is adaptable to individual needs while maintaining the core principles that drive elite performance in distance running.
Our youth team is for athletes ages 6-14. We also accept high school athletes up to age 18 with coach approval.
No running experience is needed! We welcome athletes of all skill levels and will help them develop at their own pace.
At minimum, athletes should bring running attire (comfortable clothes and running shoes) and a water bottle. A towel is also recommended.
There's no strict commitment requirement. However, the more committed athletes are to attending practice and putting in the work, the better results they'll see. We encourage consistency but understand that life happens.
Practices are held at Jervey Gantt on Mondays and at Jervey Gantt or Trinity Catholic on Wednesdays, both at 5:30 PM.
Yes! We participate in AAU and FLYRA events throughout the season. Check our Events page for the full schedule. Race entry fees are separate from membership (except for the Elite membership which includes custom scheduling around competitions).
